NO PURCHASE OR DONATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THE PRIZE DRAWS. 

A PURCHASE OR DONATION WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

The “Chabad on Campus 2017 Prize Draws” (the “Prize Draws”) begin at 9:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) (13:00 GMT) on May 15, 2017 and end at 11:59 PM on July 12, 2017 (4:59 AM British Summer Time [“BST”] on 13 July 2017) (the “Prize Draw Entry Period”). Prize Draws consist of four (4) separate Prize Draws. Prize Draws are open to legal residents of: Canada; Great Britain (defined as England, Scotland and Wales); or 49 of the 50 United States (EXCLUDING residents of Texas) or the District of Columbia who have reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside at time of entry.  Employees, officers and directors (and their immediate families [i.e., spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses], regardless of where they reside or those living in the same households, whether or not legally related) of Chabad on Campus International in the U.S., operating as Chabad on Campus – Canada in Canada, and Chabad Lubavitch operating as Chabad on Campus in Great Britain (“Promoter” or “Promoter”), and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Texas and where prohibited by law. U.S. law governs (not applicable to Quebec residents).

HOW TO ENTER:   There are two (2) basic methods of entry. They apply to Prize Draw #1 and Prize Draw #2. See further details in Prize Draw #3 and Prize Draw #4 sections below to determine if you qualify for those respective drawings.

Entry Method #1: Follow all entry instructions provided in the offer you received (or you viewed via an authorized presenting organization (each a “Presenting Organization”) to make a donation to Chabad on Campus International during the Prize Draw Entry Period, including designating the name of your local Chabad House on the entry form. You will automatically receive a pre-designated number of “Prize Draw entry tickets” based on a suggested donation option you make (“Donation Ticket Entry”). Your Donation Ticket Entry(ies) must be received by the deadline date printed in the offer or by 11:59 PM ET on July 12, 2017 (4:59 AM BST on 13 July 2017). Suggested Donation Option and Corresponding Number of Donation Ticket Entries:

  1. Donations made in increments of $36 each: Each $36 donation will be entered as one (1) Donation Ticket Entry in Prize Draw #1.
  2. Donations made in increments of $180 each: In addition to the five (5) Donation Ticket Entries you’ll receive in Prize Draw #1, your $180 donation will be entered as one (1) entry into Prize Draw #2.

The number of Donation Ticket Entries for Prize Draw #2 you receive will be assigned at the time the donation is made; there is no daily accumulation of donations to receive Prize Draw #2 Donation Ticket Entries. There is a maximum of fifty (50) Donation Ticket Entries in Prize Draw #1 and a maximum of ten (10) per person Donation Ticket Entries in Prize Draw #2 per person regardless of entry method.

Entry Method #2: To enter Prize Draw #1 without making a donation (“Mail-in Entry”): Handprint your name, address, phone number, email address, AND THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF YOUR LOCAL CHABAD HOUSE on a 3” x 5” piece of paper, insert in an envelope and mail to the Mail-in Entry address as applicable that appears at the end of this section. Prize Draw #1 will award one (1) Grand Prize of $10,000 cash; three (3) Second Prizes of $1,000 cash each; and one (1) Third Prize of $360 cash.

To enter Prize Draw #2 without making a donation or by making a donation of less than an increment of $180 (“Mail-in Entry”): Handprint your name, address, phone number, email address, AND the words “Entry for Trip to Israel” on a 3” x 5” piece of paper, insert in an envelope and mail to the Mail-in Entry address appearing at the end of this section. Your valid Mail-In Entry will receive ten (10) entry tickets into Prize Draw #2.  Prize Draw #2 will award one (1) prize of a trip to Israel valued at $3,000 USD or $3,000 cash.

PRIZE DRAW #3 (“Local Chabad House Prizes”): All entries from Prize Draw #1 that have designated (on the Entry Method #1 entry form or on the Entry Method #2 Mail-in entry) one of the eligible local Chabad Houses listed in the chart below will automatically be entered into special draws to award one $360 cash prize assigned to each of the eligible local Chabad Houses. The entry will be included in the respective Chabad House drawing named on the entry. Prize value stated in US currency. There is a limit of fifty (50) Prize Draw #3 entries per person.

All prize values listed in any portion of these complete official rules are stated in US currency unless otherwise noted. 

THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO ALL MAIL-IN ENTRIES: All Mail-in Entries must be postmarked between May 15, 2017 and July 12, 2017 and received by July 19, 2017 to be eligible. Follow instructions for completing your Mail-In Entry as described for the applicable Prize Draw.  No more than one (1) Mail-In Entry per envelope.  Mail-In entries must be mailed to the applicable addresses as follows:

  1. From the United States or Canada, mail to: “Chabad on Campus 2016” Raffle/Prize Draw Entry, 719 Eastern Parkway, First Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11213, USA.
  2. From Great Britain, mail to: “Chabad on Campus 2016” Raffle/Prize Draw Entry, 37a Castle Street, Cambridge, England CB30AH.

FOR ALL PRIZE DRAWS: Incomplete entries will be voided. All entries become property of the Promoter and/or any Presenting Organizations and will not be returned or acknowledged. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, mutilated, postage due or mechanically reproduced entry tickets/forms or that have been tampered with or not obtained through legitimate channels, all of which will be disqualified. Liability for an irregular entry ticket/form or prize notice shall be limited to replacement with another. Promoter will not assume responsibility for any third party’s failure to act in accordance with its instructions pertaining to Prize Draw implementation.

CONSUMER DISCLOSURES:  No purchase or donation necessary. You have not yet won. Ends: July 12, 2017. The Prize Draw consists of four (4) separate Prize Draws. Forty-three (43) prizes will be awarded.  Prizes and their Approximate Retail Values (“ARV”):

Prize Draw #1” will award one (1) Grand Prize of $10,000 cash; three (3) Second Prizes of $1,000 cash each; and one (1) Third Prize of $360 cash.  Total retail value of Prize Draw #1 prizes: $13,360.

“Prize Draw #2” will award one (1) trip to Israel valued at $3,000 or $3,000 cash. Prize value is estimated for a New York, NY USA departure. Prize trip includes: airfare to/from Israel and hotel accommodations expense up to and including the retail value stated herein. Cash or cash equivalents are not part of the prize trip award. Sponsor or Sponsor’s agent will make all travel arrangements for winner and winner’s travel companion(s). Winner and travel companion(s) must travel on same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining proper documents (valid passport visa, etc.) prior to travel. Travel companion(s) will be required to sign a Liability/Publicity Release before travel is booked. Expenses in excess of the retail value stated herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. In the event actual costs are less than the retail value stated herein, the balance will not be awarded. Sponsor will not be responsible if weather conditions, cancellations, or other factors prevent or delay travel, and winner will not be entitled to any compensation in lieu thereof. Sponsor will not be responsible if winner and/or any guest are denied entry onto aircraft, into Israel, or return entry into their departure point. In such a situation, the winner and/or guest will be responsible for any and all costs incurred. In the event $3,000 cash is awarded, a corporate check payable to winner will be issued within thirty (30) days of winner verification.  ARV: $3,000. 

Prize Draw #3” will award twenty (20) Local Chabad Prizes of $360 cash each. Total ARV of Prize Draw #2 prizes: $7,200.

Prize Draw #4” will award sixteen (16) Shluchim-supplied prizes as described in the chart in the “How to Enter” paragraph for Prize Draw #3. Total ARV of Prize Draw #3 prizes: $4,365.09.

Maximum value of all prizes: $27,925.09. Prize values are stated in U.S. currency unless noted. Cash prizes will be paid in equivalent value local currency upon winner request.

Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received per Prize Draw, but will be no worse than 1:25,000. Promoter: Chabad on Campus International in the U.S. and Canada (and Chabad Lubavitch operating as Chabad on Campus in Great Britain and registered as a charity with the UK Charities Commission), 719 Eastern Parkway, First Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11213, USA.

WINNER SELECTIONS and NOTIFICATIONS: Random draws will be conducted on or about July 26, 2017 at approximately 3:00 PM ET (8:00 PM BST) from among all eligible entries received, by and at the offices of the Promoter, 719 Eastern Parkway, First Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11213 USA, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters concerning the Prize Draws. For Prize Draw #3: All eligible entries received from Prize Draw #1 will be segregated by the eligible local Chabad House designated on the Prize Draw #1 entries. Twenty (20) separate draws will be held from among corresponding designated eligible local Chabad House entries to award Prize Draw #3 prizes. Prize Draw #3 entries are exclusive to the corresponding Chabad House and will not be entered into the other nineteen (19) Prize Draw #3 draws.

For Prize Draw #4: All eligible entries received from Prize Draw #1 will be segregated by the eligible Chabad House designated on the Prize Draw #1 entries. Sixteen (16) separate draws will be held from among corresponding designated eligible Chabad House entries to award Prize Draw #4 prizes. Prize Draw #4 entries are exclusive to the corresponding Chabad House and will not be entered into the other fifteen (15) Prize Draw #4 draws.

Potential winners will be notified within seven (7) days of selection via email and/or telephone and/or mail. Winners may be required (at Promoter’s discretion) to sign and return a Declaration of Compliance, including a Liability Release and a Publicity Release (collectively, the “Declaration/Release”), within ten (10) days of date on notification. Failure to execute and return the Declaration/Release and/or any required documentation within the time period specified and/or return of any prize notification or prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Any potential Canadian winner will also be required to correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill testing question administered by telephone by Promoter or its designated agent at a mutually agreeable time before being confirmed as a winner. Any costs or expenses associated with claiming or redeeming any prize will be the responsibility of winners except where prohibited by law. Cash prizes will be awarded in form of a corporate check within thirty (30) days of winner verification. If a prize check remains uncashed after ninety (90) days of issuance date, the prize will be considered forfeited. Merchandise prizes must be picked up within thirty (30) days of winner verification or prize will be considered forfeited. Promoter will have no further obligation to the any winner who forfeited and will not replace any forfeited prize. No prize substitutions allowed except at the sole discretion of the Promoter. No transfer or assignment of any prize permitted except to a surviving spouse. Winners are responsible for all taxes on prizes as applicable. A winner from Canada or Great Britain may be subject to withholding tax as applicable under tax treaties. Any U.S. winner of Prize Draw #1 or Prize Draw #2 and/or the “Chapman University Eternity Band Prize” in Prize Draw #4 is required to provide Social Security number to Promoter or its designated agent for tax reporting purposes. Winning constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use each winner’s name, photograph, hometown, likeness, and prize won (all at Promoter’s discretion) for future advertising, publicity in any and all media now or hereafter devised throughout the world, in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, release, or permission.

The following paragraph is applicable to all entrants except legal residents of Quebec: All disputes and claims arising out of or relating to the Prize Draws shall be determined according to the laws of the State of New York (United States) without regard to its conflict of law principles and all participating entrants consent to the personal jurisdiction of the federal and state courts located in New York County and agree that such courts have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes. All causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Prize Draws shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action litigation and any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket expenses incurred. The Promoter and/or Presenting Organizations reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any Prize Draws if it becomes technically corrupted, subject only to the Regie des alcools des courses et des jeux with respect to legal residents of Quebec. In such event, prizes will be awarded (if applicable) from eligible entries received prior to this date of termination. Employees, officers, directors, representatives and agents of Promoter, Presenting Organizations, and their respective advertising and promotion agencies and any other person or organization directly involved with the promotion and their respective immediate families and/or household members of such employees are ineligible. Entrant information provided to judging agency/designated agent will solely be used by judging agency/designated agent in process of determining winners for this promotion, and will be destroyed thereafter. 

Participating entrants agree to these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Promoter, which are final and binding, and indemnify, release and hold harmless the Promoter, any Presenting Organizations, their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and all other businesses involved in the Prize Draws, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each, from all claims and liability or damage caused or claimed to be caused, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with participation in the  Prize Draws, or acceptance or use of any prize.

The Promoter and any Presenting Organization are not responsible for any printing, production, typographical, human or other error of any nature in printing of any Prize Draw notice, entry form or prize notice, or in the administration of the Prize Draws or announcement of the prizes. Any Prize Draw notice, entry form or prize notice containing a printing, production, typographical, human or other error of any nature shall be deemed null and void. Promoter shall always have the right to take such other measures as it deems necessary or appropriate, in its sole discretion, to preserve the integrity of the Prize Draws. In no event shall the Promoter and/or any Presenting Organization have any liability or obligation to award more than the prizes offered in conjunction with the Prize Draws. In the event Promoter is prevented from continuing with the  Prize Draws by any event beyond its control, including, but not limited to, fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, communications or equipment failure, utility or service interruptions, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared), interference with the Prize Draws by any party, or any federal, state, local or provincial government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within Promoter’s control. Promoter shall have the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Prize Draws and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to termination.  

By entering the Prize Draws, entrants agree that in addition to being used for potential winner notification, collected information from entrants may be used by Promoter and/or a Presenting Organization in a manner that is consistent with the Promoter's Privacy Policy located at  www.pledgejewish.com or the applicable Presenting Organization. The online information Promoter collects may be stored and processed on servers in various locations around the world. Entrants’ participation in the  Prize Draw implies authorization to collect, process and use the data provided concerning the entrant and to transfer such personal data to a country located outside Canada and Great Britain for purposes of management of the Prize Draws and future offers for any participant that has opted-in to receive such offers (if applicable).

FOR QUEBEC RESIDENTS ONLY: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

MISCELLANEOUS: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms and Conditions will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Promoter’s failure to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions will not constitute a waiver of that provision. Entrants agree to waive any rights to claim ambiguity of these Terms and Conditions. Headings are solely for convenience of reference and will not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of the documents or any provision hereof.  In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Prize Draw-related materials, privacy policy or terms of use on any website and/or the terms and conditions of the Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail, govern and control and the discrepancy will be resolved in Promoter’s sole and absolute discretion. 

 

NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS

In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the email address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.  Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void.  The Promoter is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the  Prize Draws.  By participating in the  Prize Draws, you: (i) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Promoter and the independent judging organization, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the  Prize Draws. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Prize Draws. Promoter reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any Prize Draw it promotes any person it believes, in its absolute discretion, has intentionally violated these Terms and Conditions; and (ii) withdraw the online method of entry if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Prize Draws), and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to withdrawal.

Legal Warning: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN individual, whether or not an ENTRANT, TO DAMAGE, destroy, tamper WITH or vandalize this WEBSITE OR interfere with the OPERATION OF THE PRIZE DRAWS, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS and PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES and diligently pursue all remedies AND CRIMINAL PROSECUTION against ANY SUCH individual TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
